The 99th annual Tour de France started on June 30 and will run through July 22. The famous bicycle race is made up of 20 stages, covering 2,172 miles. One hundred and eighty cyclists participate in the race.

Did you know that the first Special Olympics was held on July 20, 1968? Then, 1,000 mentally disabled athletes from the U.S. and Canada competed at Soldier Field in Chicago, Il. Now, the Special Olympics includes more than a million athletes from more than 100 different countries, with local, state, national and international games.
