Cool Down with an Icy Summer Treat

Summer officially kicks off in June, and the warm weather can make you drained after a long day of fun. Rejuvenate and cool down with these delicious recipes for freezer pops.

Be Green Truman     Truman popsicle
Popsicle

  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 2 cups of blueberries
  • 2 cups of kale
  • 2 teaspoons of honey (optional)
  • water

Directions

Steam the kale and let it cool; then add the blueberries, bananas and kale into a blender. Blend ingredients together until smooth. Add the honey to sweeten the mixture to your taste buds. Then add enough water to make the mixture pourable. Finally, pour the mixture into popsicle molds and chill in the freezer until frozen.

Orange Dream Popsicle

  • 1 quart of orange juice
  • 2 cups of vanilla yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon of honey (optional)

Directions

Blend ingredients together until smooth. Pour the mixture into popsicle molds and chill in the freezer until frozen.

Tip:

If you don’t have a popsicle mold, you can use ice-cube trays. Pour the mixture into the ice cube trays and then cover with plastic wrap. Poke toothpicks through the plastic wrap into every cube.
