Letter From Truman

Dear Kids,

Ahhh, June, at last! Summer begins on June 21. In most places, kids get a break from school and have the chance to play outside and maybe even go on a vacation or go to camp. I've already started my vacationing I just got back from a trip to Miami, Florida. That sure is a great place! I love to be outside and at the beach especially, but I always remember that I need to cover up with my hat or umbrella and wear sunscreen to protect me from the sun. It's also important to protect yourself from mosquitoes during the summer months. You can read more about insects in this issue!

There's lots of fun stuff happening in June. Of course, you want to spend some time with your Dad for Father's Day. Maybe you can kick the soccer ball around outside. When you come in for a water break, you can watch the pros play during the World Cup soccer match.

Help your Mom or Dad put out your flag for Flag Day. Check to see if it has holes in it or is too worn out. If it is, you should replace it. Read all about the U.S. flag in this issue of Kidsville News!

Have a safe June and enjoy the beginning of summer!
